To help staff stay able to do their massively important day jobs (like saving lives), the NHS runs a staff training programme. It’s a huge undertaking as the programme covers many different types of large and smaller events and training sessions for all levels of staff, including assessment for junior doctors. Essentially, they needed central system that could handle huge amounts of data in order to streamline training and certification of staff.

We devised a robust customisable back-end system that allows staff to set up events (including booking venues, speakers, panel members, inviting delegates and interviewees, tracking attendance, and reporting outcomes), and a front-end website with a log-in area where attendees can easily book their place. The site also manages all of the event calendars, ensuring no double bookings.

Despite a really technical build, the website offers an incredibly user-friendly experience, which allows doctors to book their own training, manage their own diaries, and save their hugely important time. We continue to host and manage the system and have regular client meetings to work out how we can make the system even better. The project has been so successful that the website has been rolled out to more teams across the NHS.
